Founder & Organizer:
Candace White founded Black Girls Lift in March 2015 with a strong desire to help black women meet their health and fitness goals. She has organized hundreds of events, including group training sessions, boot camps, and nutrition seminars.
Candace has inspired hundreds of black women to begin exercising and/or to include a strength training component to their workouts. She high credits her FitStrong team who has worked tirelessly to carry and mold the organization into what it is today. Through the organization, she and her FitSTRONG team have created a movement to help black women become stronger and live longer.
Salina has been working as a health and and fitness professional for the last 6 years. As a competitive gymnast for 10 years, Salina learned the importance of building a strong mental and physical foundation which led to a passion for helping others build their foundations. She has her ms in health promotion management from American university, and she is also holds certifications as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, health education specialist, and functional strength coach.
Salina believes that movement is the best form of medicine, whether it's running, dancing, or resistance training (her personal favorite). She is especially passionate about working and empowering women and of all ages to tap into their mental and physical capabilities through lifting. "You are so much stronger than you realize!"
